(El Cajon, CA) - When TRAXXAS entered the world of short-course
off-road racing three years ago, very few envisioned what their
presence meant to the sport and in turn what the sport has provided
for the
radio-controlled
car company.
The concept to
create a true scale, full bodied, replica off-road race truck for
the R/C industry has introduced an entirely new group of motorsports
enthusiasts to TORC off-road racing. At the same time, putting
TRAXXAS at the forefront of the radio-controlled marketplace. One of
the race replica off-road race trucks is the Douglas Motorsports
PRO-4x4 #7 AMSOIL Ford F-150.
2011 will be the
fourth year of the partnership with TRAXXAS and Douglas Motorsports.
TRAXXAS currently
has four different radio-controlled truck models that replicate the
Scott Douglas AMSOIL TORC truck. Nearly seventy thousand of the
Scott Douglas replicas have been sold, making it the #1 seller for
TRAXXAS in 2010.
The Scott Douglas
AMSOIL F-150 has been a
fixture
in the “Voice of Off-Road Motorsports” - DIRTSPORTS Magazine. The
familiar #7 has occupied the front cover four times in the last five
years, as well as featured in numerous articles.
Other publications
synonymous with the off-road lifestyle, Off Road and Petersen’s
4-Wheel Drive Magazine, have featured Scott Douglas, more than any
other current professional off-road competitor, in numerous articles
throughout his storied career as well.
Always promoting the
sport and his partners, 2011 has already kept Scott Douglas busy
making public appearances. The opening round of AMA Supercross in
Anaheim, CA saw Scott
meeting
many of the seventy-five thousand fans in attendance. Then it was
off to Round 2 of AMA Supercross in Phoenix, AZ to display his
AMSOIL race truck and mingle with the nearly sixty-five thousand
fans.
Then it was a week
long stay at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale,
AZ.
The iconic event brings hundreds of thousands of automotive and
motorsports enthusiasts together. Scott Douglas had the opportunity
to give all in attendance an up-close view of a PRO-4x4 TORC
Off-Road race truck.
Before the April 30
TORC season opener at Cycle Ranch in San Antonio, TX, Scott is
scheduled to fly over to the Middle East for a ten day tour with
Armed Forces Entertainment. Scott
and the group will greet our troops and thank them for everything
they do to keep this great country safe.
When asked about the
upcoming trip, Scott stated, “This is by far a huge honor and is the
biggest thing I have ever done.”
